Competent Crew €350-€699

This course is for beginners and those with a little sailing experience. €699- 5 days or €350-2 ngt wk’end; €466-3 ngt wk’end. Fee incls tuition, shared cabin, delicious meals and gear.

Yachtmaster Coastal Preparation Course

The Coastal Skipper Certificate certifies a recreational sailor’s ability to skipper a sailing yacht under sail and auxiliary motor on coastal passages during daylight and at night. The assessment is a practical assessment run at sea in a cruising boat.  This course prepares you for the assessment.  SailCork offers a “one stop shop” with a 4 day Coastal Skipper Preparation Course on Holy Grounder followed by the assessment by a different examiner from your instructor, usually with a break of few hours in between.

The ISA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate certifies a recreational sailors ability to skipper a sailing yacht under sail and auxiliary motor on coastal and offshore passages during daylight and at night. The certificate is endorsed for recreational use by the Department of Transport Tourism and Sport. The assessment is a practical assessment run at sea in a cruising boat.This course prepares you for the assessment.  SailCork offers a “one stop shop” with a 4 day Coastal Skipper Preparation Course on Holy Grounder followed by the assessment by a different examiner from your instructor, usually with a break of few hours in between.

Yachtmaster Offshore Practical Exam

Duration of assessment One candidate: 8 - 12 hours. More than one candidate: 5 - 9 hours per candidate. Boat required The boat used for assessments would normally be a sailing yacht with auxiliary engine that is at least 7 metres in overall length and which is suitable for cruising. The yacht must be equipped to category B as defined on ISA Yacht Safety Equipment list.
