Building on existing skills of the National Powerboat Certificate and Powerboat Coxswain this course is aimed at the powerboat enthusiast who intends to operate in a more challenging environment both in daylight and in darkness. Candidates must have Navigation skills at Day skipper standard plus a VHF radio licence.

Syllabus | Boat preparation, passage planning, weather, passage making (day & night), advanced boat handling. Role and limitations of SAR crew. Personal, crew and casualty safety. Includes endorsements for planning, outdrive, outboard, console control, and tiller control. By the end of this course, the successful participant will have a sound introduction to using fast open boats at sea- by day and night. Participants must have their National Powerboat Cert and have logged plenty of driving experience. As this course included a large amount of high-speed navigation by day and night. Candidate must have completed a navigation course. |
