ISA Introduction to Powerboating
6.5m Excalibur RIB 120hp Mercruiser inboard diesel engine, 5.5 m Humber RIB 90hp Honda four stroke engine, 4m Narwhal RIB 15hp Honda four stroke engine.
You will understand the basic handling characteristics of a powerboat, the requirements of a crew and the responsibilities of a SAR crew.
SailCork’s base at East Ferry in Cork Harbour, with waters suitable for powerboating in all weathers. Full facilities including a chartroom for briefings, changing rooms, easy access to the water for dinghies and marina for larger boats. Can be conducted at a SAR Organisation’s own station.
Your personal powerboating gear, suitable for powerboating in all conditions. Buoyancy aid or lifejacket. Notebook and pen. Whistle and knife. Powerboat logbook
Bring a packed lunch as well as snack and drink for mid morning.
