This course is aimed at building skills from scratch – The aim of this course is to provide a course in Powerboating for beginners. This includes training on how to crew a boat as well as covering basic driving (helming) skills. Get involved in power boating in a structured and relaxed way with our professional team.

Location | SailCork's base at East Ferry in Cork Harbour, P24D681 where there are waters suitable for powerboating in all weathers. Full facilities including a chartroom for briefings, changing rooms, easy access to the water for dinghies and marina for larger boats. |
Equipment Included | Buoyancy aids. Waterproof clothing available for hire if required. |
What to bring | Essential to bring full set of waterproofs, jacket and trouser. You cannot go afloat without full gear suitable for powerboating in all conditions. Note that it can be cold on a powerboat, due to the effect of wind at high speed (bring one layer more than think you need!). |

Syllabus | Basic boat preparation, assist launch & recovery, low & high speed manoeuvres, anchoring & docking, basic weather, safety. Personal & crew safety. |
